Seeking a Senior Lecturer
Rural and Remote Nursing Practice to make significant contributions to
partnership engagement, teaching and learning within the school, and contribute
to the BHUDRH rural nursing placement programs including the newly established
Far West Extended Nursing Placement Program. This position is an Education
focused role, where the majority of the work undertaken will focus on
establishing and consolidating partnerships with key stakeholders to promote
the development of a rural and remote nursing and midwifery workforce,
contribute to the extension of nursing workforce innovations within the Broken
Hill community and region, the provision of quality education, teaching and
career coaching services including inter-professional education and practice.

The Broken Hill University
Department of Rural Health (BHUDRH) aims to improve healthcare in far west and
western New South Wales by providing high quality support, education, and
training for health students undertaking their placements within the region and
practicing health professionals. Our focus is to establish relevant teaching
and support environments, promote opportunities for student placements in the
region, and deliver a successful rural attachment program for medical, nursing,
and allied health students.
Your
key responsibilities will be to:
play a leadership role in
educational innovations, curriculum design aligned to rural and remote nursing
placements and practice, and review based on systematic and evidence-based
review of contemporary teaching methods and techniques
coordinate and develop
curricula and placement programs within the school, and develop and evaluate
assessment materials which align with best practice and the strategic direction
of the BHUDRH, the Sydney Nursing School and Faculty of Medicine and Health
engage strategically with
key stakeholders to lead and contribute to rural and remote nursing and
midwifery workforce initiatives.
To
be successful in this role, you:
Are a registered nurse with
a nursing education or management background.
Are you highly motivated and
committed to the development of future nursing professionals
Have excellent communication
skills, verbal and written understand the importance of evidence informed
approaches to the development of a rural and remote nursing workforce
Have capacity to develop
reports and undertake literature reviews, have a deep and broad experience in
teaching and learning, as evidenced by leading team teaching within an
established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
Have a track record of
contributing to strategic innovations have an applied understanding of
contemporary pedagogical practices in the nursing discipline, have success in
supporting the academic endeavours of education and teaching within a student
enabling environment, have capacity to engage in research/scholarship
Care deeply about rural and
remote health care and nursing workforce contributions

Australian Temporary
