Job Title: Programmes Coordinator
Contract: Full Time, 12 to 24 month fixed term contract.
Salary: $40,000 - $46,000 per annum (plus accommodation and benefits)
Principal Location: Maiduguri, with regular travel within Nigeria
Street Child are searching for a passionate, talented professional to lead our flagship programme in the North East of Nigeria. We are a rapidly developing international children's charity with high-class programming in 20 of the world's lowest income and most crisis-affected countries. Working alongside excellent local NGOs to deliver high impact programming in education and protection is at the heart of Street Child's approach globally. In Nigeria, we are recognised as an outstanding INGO for championing and strengthening local partners.
This unique role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced team leader to drive the agile, outcomes-focussed delivery of our $3.5m programme portfolio. The role holder will be based in our principal and largest office in Maiduguri, where you will provide senior representation, and work with a strong team of project managers and departmental leads. The Programme Coordinator will quickly grasp the design, planning, management and monitoring needed to demonstrably achieve the education and protection outcomes we are targeting, and to strongly engage in the development of new opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in humanitarian contexts, used to building and stewarding relationships with donors, government and local partners, and working with multiple programmes and budgets. You will also have proven coaching, teamwork and communication skills, strong writing skills and analytical thinking, and excellent leadership ability. Naturally, as a key member of a busy team where responding to fresh events and opportunities quickly is the norm, you will be frequently asked to help with whatever the need of the moment is. We value agility and flexibility.
