An engineering and human resources company needs the services of a qualified candidate to fill this position.
Job Purpose:
- To execute Project and Facilities Engineering activities, and to provide relevant expertise to the Project Team through all phases of the Project, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up, to hand-over and initial operations. To ensure the Project is executed to specified Shell and International standards and specifications.
- To manage all Engineering aspects of the Project during the implementation phase, with the objective to complete the work in accordance with the Project Development Plan, and with all appropriate norms and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise, procedures, and technical review and support capabilities in the area of project engineering to the Project Teams with focus on electrical and Fibre Optics Cable design and installation scope.
- To participate in the execution of the EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) contract for the Project; This includes responsibility for the provision of project engineering input, resource and support towards the completion, with minimum supervision of the following activities: Projects’ Initial Execution Strategies; Projects’ Basis for Design engineering reports; Projects’ Execution Phase Resource Plans; Projects’ risks, interfaces and issues management strategies; Tie-in of the projects to the Asset team ARP.
- Provide technical support, and technical review capabilities in the area of facilities and project engineering to further check that the Projects’ designs conform to SPDC facility standard designs and the SPDC standard construction specifications.
- To provide/co-ordinate responses to Contractors’ technical queries on electrical and fibre optics from the project detail design to hand-over phases
Qualifications and Requirements:
- B.Sc. level or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Electrical Electronics/Instrumentation IT of which not less than 2 years is in fibre optics cable design and installation.
- Certifications in information technology would be an advantage.
