Responsibilities
.Directs staff in the planning,coordinating and provision of a variety of support services to departments including but not limited to:
information systems,risk management,facilities maintenance,purchasing ,vehicle operations and maintenance,reprographics,telephone sevices
and communication
.Coordinates training,staff development and welfare.
.Oversees the development,modification and implementation of operational and administrative policies and procedures
.Serves on committees that formulate policies related to departmental services
.Manages relationships with contractors,vendors,etc
.Responds to service requests referred by subordinate officers
.Directs staff in the preparation and monitoring of departments budjet;
determination of appropriate level of services and rates
.Develops performance measures;analysis of services provided to ensure cost efficiency and adequate levels of services
.Facilitates the review of subordinates and mangers budjet requests to determine the need for requested items,their priority and
alternate sources of funding
.Provides clear and effective direction to staff,applies applicable laws,rules and policies
.Represent Department and Divisions with fact and diplomacy
.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Departments,Agencies,private contractors businesses and general public.
Qualification and Experience:
-A University Degree in Economics,Management,Business Administration,Accounting or any related discipline.
-Minim um of 15 years relevant experience.
-Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
-An MBA with focus on management will be an added advantage.
